Tuesday Nov 10 2015
by MCT Release

Daley Peters and his East St. Paul foursome (Corey Chambers, Kody Janzen, Stuart Shiells) defeated Taylor McIntyre-Granite to complete an undefeated run through the Rossmere Ken Kurbis Memorial Galaxy Bonspiel presented by Fort Garry Industries. It was the second championship of the season on the Manitoba Curling Tour presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, following an earlier victory in the Fort Rouge KKP Classic.

The 6-3 win helped the Peters team retain the second place ranking on the MCT Men’s list, a mere two points behind McIntyre. Peters picked up $1,800 while McIntyre’s payday was $1300.

Quarterfinalists Dennis Bohn-Assiniboine Memorial and Jared Kolomaya-Stonewall each earned $1000. Kolomaya retained his fourth ranked position (behind #3 David Bohn-Granite) while Dennis Bohn’s team improved their ranking to #8 (up from #15).

Scott Ramsay-Granite, with three wins, improved from #7 to #6 on the rankings, pushing Kelly Marnoch to #7. Fifth ranked Matt Dunstone-Granite and Marnoch did not compete in the Rossmere event.

Quarterfinalists Ryan Hyde-Portage and Tyler Drews-Fort Rouge each cashed cheques for $700. Hyde makes his first appearance on the rankings list, moving in to the top 30. Drews improved to #11, tied with Rob Atkins-Charleswood and William Lyburn-Granite. Richard Muntain is ranked 14th on the MCT rankings, in a tie with Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock.

Based on end-of-season rankings, teams will receive an invitation to compete in the MCT Championship at Dauphin Curling Club, December 11-13. In addition to the primary sponsorship of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, the MCT appreciates the valued support of Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy and other local Dauphin sponsors as well as Asham Curling Supplies and ReMax professionals Gord & Kristi Green.

Next on the Manitoba Curling Tour are the Swan River Westwood Inn Classic (November 13-16) and the DEKALB SuperSpiel in Morris & Rosenort (November 19-23)
