Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Renews Manitoba Curling Tour Sponsorship

Wednesday Oct 07 2015

Manitoba Curling Tour (MCT) and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) are pleased to announce the renewal of the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries sponsorship of the season long Manitoba Curling Tour and support for the season ending MCT Championships.

Now identified province-wide as the Manitoba Curling Tour presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, the MCT coordinates a series of 18 bonspiels in five Winnipeg curling clubs and five clubs in rural Manitoba. The MCT is also responsible for maintaining a ranking of Manitoba’s competitive men’s and women’s teams which leads to the 2015 allocation of four invitations to compete in the provincial men’s curling championship in Selkirk in February 2016, and three invitations to compete in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Monsanto in Beausejour in January, 2016.

The Men’s and Women’s Championships of the Manitoba Curling Tour presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries will be hosted by the Dauphin Curling Club, December 11-13, 2015. Invitations to participate are based upon the MCT rankings. The winner, or highest finishing eligible teams, will earn a provincial championship invitation. The remaining provincial invitations will be assigned to the top ranked eligible teams after the championships.

The accumulated rankings began with events played in January to March 2015, including CurlManitoba’s spring qualifying events. The first two events of the fall season, the Mother Club Men’s and Women’s Fall Classics at Granite and the KKP Men’s Classic at Fort Rouge, have already been completed.

Based on results of the first events, the current rankings are:
MEN:
#1: Daley Peters – East St. Paul
#2: Taylor McIntyre – Granite
#3: Kelly Marnoch – Carberry
#4: Matt Dunstone – Granite
#5: Jared Kolomaya – Stonewall

 WOMEN:
#1: Michelle Montford – Assiniboine Memorial
#2: Kerri Einarson – East St. Paul
#3: Kristy McDonald - Granite
#4: Jill Thurston – Granite
#5: Beth Peterson – Fort Rouge

Along with the renewal of the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries sponsorship, the Manitoba Curling Tour welcomes the renewal of the sponsorship of Asham Curling Supplies, for the 25th consecutive year, and of ReMax professionals Gord & Kristi Green, for the 5th consecutive year. The MCT also appreciates the support of Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy and other community supporters in the staging of the championships weekend in Dauphin.
