Link Wins Tim Hortons Senior Womens Championship

Saturday Feb 21 2015

Kim Link and her team (Karen Fallis, Janice Blair and Allyson Bell) from the East St Paul Curling Club defeated Lois Fowler 8-6 in the final of the Tim Hortons Senior Womens Championship in Killarney and will represent Manitoba at the 2015 Canadian Senior Championship. Fowler, the reigning Canadian Senior Women's Champion, had won 3 games (a tiebreaker, the Page 2-2 Playoff, and the semifinal) to get into the evening final game. The championship is only the second provincial title for a team from East St. Paul. In 2002 Carl Garman skipped a senior men's team from East St. Paul to the Manitoba and Canadian Senior titles. Because German was under-age by World standards, the team was skipped by Ron Westcott at the World Seniors in Bismarck, ND and won a silver medal.
