Neufeld Wins Strathcona Senior Men's Final

Randy Neufeld and his La Salle team (Dean Moxham, Peter Nichols and Dale Michie) defeated Ron Westcott 9-2 in the Strathcona Senior Men's Championhip final and will now represent Manitoba at the 2015 Canadian Senior Championships.                                           

Neufeld Still Undefeated in Strathcona Senior Men's, Advances to Final - Randy Neufeld (La Salle) remained unbeaten at the Strathcona Senior Men's Championship in Altona with a 3-2 win over Kelly Robertson's Neepawa team in the Page 1-1 Playoff game, Sunday evening. Neufeld advances to the Monday 1pm final game. Robertson, the reigning Manitoba champion,  will play the Monday morning semifinal against former champion Ron Westcott-Fort Rouge. Westcott defeated Jim Renwick-Brandon 6-1 in the Page 2-2 Playoff game.           

Robertson, Neufeld Still Undefeated in Strathcona Senior Men's - A pair of wins Saturday, 8-2 over Terry McNamee-Carberry and 6-3 over Curtis McCannell-Pilot Mound, improved defending champion Kelly Robertson and his Neepawa team's record to 6-0 at the Strathcona Senior Men's Championship in Altona. On the Sunday noon, Robertson's final round robin game is against Ron Gauthier-Granite who has a 4-2 record, tied with McNamee and Jim Renwick-Brandon. Renwick's final game is against Rob Atkins-East St Paul (2-4) and McNamee plays McCannell (2-4). Robertson will advance to the playoff as the first place team in the goruping - the results of the final round games will determine second place, or a need for tiebreaker draws.

In the other group, round robin play ended on the moring draw Sunday with Randy Neufeld-La Salee completing a perfect 7-0 preliminary round by beating Ron Westcott 5-2. The loss means Westcott's record is 5-2 and the former champion earns second place, ahead of 4-3 Murray Warren-Deloraine and 4-3 Bob SIgurdson-Granite.

Top Seeds Undefeated in Strathcona Senior Men's: The top three seeds are undefeated as the third day of play begins Saturday at the Strathcona Senior Men's Championship in Altona. Top seed Kelly Robertson-Neepawa leads his competition group with Ron Gauthier-Granite and Terry McNamee -Carberry sitting at 3-1 and Curtis McCannell-Pilot Mound and Jim Renwick-Brandon at 2-2 after four rounds of play.In the other grouping, second seed Bob Sigurdson-Granite and third seed Randy Neufeld-LaSalle have 4-0 records with Murray Warren-Deloraine and former champion Ron Westcott-Firt Rouge at 3-1 and Sam Antila-Burntwood at 2-2.
