Dauphin Duo Wins Viterra Mixed Doubles Trials

Ray Baker and Lisa Menard-Dauphin (pictured with Noland Morris-Viterra) won the 2015 Viterra Mixed Doubles Trials at the Wildewood Curling Club January 30-February 1 with a 6-5 victory over Kate Camerona & Taylor McIntyre-Granite. They will represent Manitoba at the 2015 Mixed Doubles Curling Trials March 11-15 in Ottawa. The Canadian event will feature 32 teams: 14 provincial and territorial reps, two teams comprising the four members of the Canadian Mixed Fours Championship, and 16 'open entries'. If there are more than 16 applications for the spaces in the event, they will be selected on the basis of each two-person team's Order of Merit ranking as of Dec. 31, 2014.

The winner of the Ottawa event will represent Canada at the World Mixed Doubles in Schi, Russia in April. Since 2008, the only Canadian team medal at he World Mixed Doubles has been the Bronze earned by Manitobans Sean Grassie and Allison Nimik in 2009.
