Usackis Honoured With Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame Induction

John Usackis of Lac du Bonnet was the lone rural Manitoba inductee at the 2008 Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame ceremony Sunday, May 4.

Usackis was inducted into the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame in the Curler category for a successful competitive career that has seen him make 47 appearances at Manitoba championships and win three.

Usackis has accomplished the following:
** 30 appearances at the Men's Championship, including championships in 1977 (as skip) and 1989 (as 3rd for Orest Meleschuk).
** 5 appearances at the Senior Men's Championship.
** 6 appearances at the Mixed Championship.
** 6 appearances at the Masters Championship, including the Manitoba and Canadian Open titles (at third for Orest Meleshcuk/Ken Grove).

Usackis' award was presented by MCA President Dale Brooks (left) and Hall of Fame President Fred Sutton (centre).
