CHRISTMAS JUNIOR MEN'S BONSPIEL: With a berth into next year's Provincials as the main prize available in this year's bonspiel, Riley Smith and his team are competing along with 19 other Manitoba Junior Men's teams and one ineligible team visiting from North Dakota.
Game 5: IN the event final game, Team Smith was defeated 7-2 by Tanner Lott-Petersfield.
Game 4: In their third B-Event game, Team Smith defeated Daniel Winters - Deer Lodge 7-5. Countdown to the berth playoff - 1 win to go.In the B-Event Final Game, Team Smith will play Tanner Lott-Petersfield at 7:30pm Tuesday, at Fort Garry CC. It has been determined the Smith team is not eligible to advance to the berth playoff round so they`ll have to draw their satisfaction from winning this final game.
Game 3: In their second B-Event game, Team Smith defeated Eric leduc-St Claude& Haywood 10-2. Countdown to the berth playoff - 2 wins to go.
Game 2: Playing in the B-Event, the Smith team won their first game 9-3 over Tyler Denisuik-Grain Exchange. They'll now have to win 3 in a row in order to earn the B-Event slot in the berth playoff - if they are deemed to be eligible under CurlManitoba's rules.
Game 1: In their opening game, Team Smith lost 6-4 to Matt Dunstone-Granite.
PROVINCIALS - GAME #8: Disappointment in Tiebreaker Team Smith's run to the provincial championship ended in disappointment as they lost the tiebreaker game to defending provincial champion Sam Good Pembina. Their final record for the week is 5-3.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #7: Loss for Team Smith, 5-2 Record Means Tiebreakers Team Smith faced a fired-up clumate in their final round-robin game. Daniel Birchard beat the Smith team 6-1 in eight but the news wasn't all bad as two other games went Team Smith's way. Tyler Drews scored two coming home to beat Ian Campbell and Sam Good stole two on an extra end to beat previously undefeated Jared Kolomaya, setting up a 3-way second place tie. Because the Smith foursome had beaten both, they get the tiebreak bye. Good plays Drews at 4pm withthe winner advancing against Smith at 7:45pm Monday.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #6: Big Win for Team Smith, Improve to 5-1 It was a game for second place between defending champion Sam Good-of Pembina and Riley Smith's Pebina team. Going into the game, they wre both 4-1 so the winner would be in the driver's seat. After a pair of blanked ends, Smith made two delicate tapbacks to set upa steal of two on the third. Good came back with one on th efourth end and a steal of one on the seventh end to tie 2-2. Smith took one on the eighth, Good blanked the ninth and had a draw for the win on the tenth. He was heavy, taking the game to an extra end. On the 11th, SMith got an early rock established in the four foot and Good was left nothing but a last rock angled double raise takeout which overcurled. Smith won 4-3 and improved his record to 5-1.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #5: First Loss for Team Smith, Record Now 4-1 - It was a game between the two undefeated teams in the group. Team Smith gave up a four-ender early but fought back to tie 6-6 after ten ends. Jared Kolomaya had the hammer on the extra end and scored with it to record a 7-6 win.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #4: Team Smith Still Perfect at 4-0 - Team Smith held off an early challenge from winless Call Rutter. Skip Riley Smith faced four when he threw his last rock draw on the third end. He was full in the four foot, good enough to give up a steal of only one. They came back with a three on the next end and stole the next two ends en route to an 8-3 8-end victory.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #3: Team Smith Undefeated at 3-0 - Team Smith faced a tough opponent in Ian Campbell of Charleswood and was in trouble on the seventh end when skip Riley Smith made a last rock draw to the edge of the button facing three. The eighth end was the most entertaining of the championship so far as Campbell established a red rock on the edge of the button and both teams played the angle taps and guards. With his last rock to come, the Smith team took a timeout to consider options (pictured) but in the end threw their rock to the wall. Campbell did the same to take a one point lead. On the ninth the Smith foursome scored a three and left nothing but a 'cross-your-fingers' double kill attempt coming home. The final score was 7-4 as the Smith team marked its third win in three starts.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #2: Team Smith Improves to 2-0 - Team Smith's Friday evening opponent was Tyler Drews and his La Salle team, coming off a big first round win over defending champion Sam Good. Drews started strong but the teams were tied 5-5 at the mid-game break. The Smith foursome moved ahead to stay with a three point end on the 7th end.

PROVINCIALS - GAME #1: Seeded seventh in the championship, Team Smith opened against Corey DeGagne from the Brandon Wheat City Club. They led by three coming home but skip Riley Smith needed a hit against three to hold onto an 8-7 victory.
