Resby Coutts hosts the curling world’s only regularly scheduled hour-long radio show dedicated to providing curling news, information, and opinion, weekly on Mondays at 7PM (CST) on CFRW 1290. 2009-2010 Season:
APRIL19: Former Champion and RockTalk regular Randy Dutiaume joins Resby Coutts and Mitch Tarapasky to re-cap season highlights and to discuss the recommendations of the CurlManitoba Safeway Championship Review Committee. The April 19 edition of RockTalk ends the seaosn - tentative fall 2010 start date is October 18.

APRIL12: Kerry Burtnyk's lead Garth Smith was a guest on the April 12 edition of RockTalk on CFRW, with a look ahead to the Players Championship along with comments and opinions on a range of curling topics and issues. Burtnyk makes an interview appearance to talk about the first competitive appearance of his daughters who reached the semi-final of the Canada Games Trials. Kerri Flett comments on her first Players Championship invitation and Shirley Lank, Prince Edward Island Curling Association President has comments on Stick Curling and the Dominion Club Champions Championship.

APRIL 5: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Sean Grassie in CFRW's RockTalk Studio with recollections of his World Mixed Doubles appearance a year ago in Cortina, Italy - site of the Capital One Men's Worlds currently underway. Grassie talks about this year's Manitoba Mixed and about issues facing the sport of curling, including his thoughts on re-structuring Safeway Championship qualifying. The program includes a tribute to Ray Turnbull prepared by Grassie as a project in his Red River College Communications program. Manitoba Mixed champion Terry McNamee and 2010 Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame inductees Georgina Anderson and Rick Mutton make interview appearances.

MARCH 29: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by former Manitoba Champion Randy Dutiaume. They track the progress of the final game of the MNP Mixed Championship, won by Terry McNamee-Hamiota. Dutiaume brings the competitors perspective to the discussion as he discusses strategy and the challenges of competing on extremely keen ice which the Stonewall CC offered curlers for the championship. Kerri Flett makes an interview appearance with comments on the MNP event in Stonewall. The extended discussion tocuhes on proposals for shortening the championships, including 8 end games, no extra ends and no tiebreakers - all topics ot be discussed at the upcoming World Curling Federation meetings.  Dutiaume also looks forward to the first meeting of the Safeway Championship Review committee.

MARCH 22: Host Resby Coutts brings you a memory from radio of the 1950's - a snippet of a live broadcast fo the final rocks of the 1953 Brier, with commentary by Cactus Jack Wells and Ken Watson. An interview with Bob Picken explains the challenges of a radio broadcast of a curling game and the Canadian broadcast legend recalls his own days of curling braodcasts. CurlMantoba Executive Director Shane Ray, in an interview appearance, invites and challenges Manitoba curlers to get involved in setting future direction by joining the Board of Governors.  Former Masters Champion Ray Orr and Manitoba Stick Curling Champion Earl Stephenson talk about their successes with the delivery stick.

MARCH 15: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Mitch Tarapasky and John Bubbs. Manitoba Masters champion Ron Westcott makes an interview appearance to talk about his masters championship team and to express opinions on the Masters championship format and on a suggestion that Manitoba Seniors play be eight-end games. Granite CC President Frank Clark makes an interview appearance to talk about planned renovations to 'the Mother Club' and a fund-rasingprogram about to be undertaken.

MARCH 8: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Cathy Gauthier and the CCA's Danny Lamoureux to talk about the Manitoba Mixed zone results and the November 2010 Canadian Mixed at Morris. 2009 Canadian Champion Sean Grassie, a 2010 zone winner, makes and interview appearance. A interview with Jennifer Jones focuses attention on the coming weekend's DEKALB SuperSpiel in Morris as well as the upcoming Women's Worlds in Swift Current. Gauthier and Lamoureux share ideas on how curling can take advantage of the excitement surrounding curling as a result of Olympic TV exposure.

MARCH 1: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Mitch Tarapasky and CurlManitoba Executive Director Shane Ray to talk about impressions of the Olympic Games. Team Martin driver Scott Grant is an interview guest. iscussions extend into the Manitoba Senior Championships with an interview appearance by rookie senior Bob Sigurdson, finalist in the Senior Men's. Ray talks about format changes in qualifying which will be implemented for the 2010-2011 seaosn.

FEBRUARY 22: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Jill Officer in a Vancouver Games special edition. Officer talks about dealing with the disappointment of not winning the Canadian Curling Trials, her experiences as an RBC Olympian-a community Ambassador role she has played for the past 18 months, and the upcoming Ford World Championship. Three Manitobans make interview appearances. Free Press writer Ed Tait talks about his first Olympic Games; TSN commentator Cathy Gauthier talks about the curling, her experiences, and her expanded broadcast role; and Head Ice Technician Hans Wuthrich talks about the atmosphere in the curling venue and the challenges of making ice in Vancouver.

FEBRUARY 15: Host Resby Coutts is joined by Manitoba champions Jeff Stoughton, Kevin Park, Rob Fowler & Steve Gould in intervioews conducted after their Safeway Championship wins. Also making interview appearances are Mike McEwen & Kerry Burtnyk, Jill Officer, George Pauls (Curler of Distinction Award recipient), Wayne Pauls (Steinbach co-chair), Reg Black (Beausejour), Markus Eggler (Swiss Olympian), Lorne Hamblin (Swiss Coach), John Shuster (US Olympian), and Paul Webster (CCA Man's Olympic Assistant Coach).

FEBRUARY 8: Host Resby Coutts is joined by regular co-host Mitch Tarapasky and former Manitoba champion Randy Dutiuame in a review of the past week in Manitoba curling, including a discussion of the Scotties successof Jennifer Jones and her team and the recent announcement of the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame's 2010 inductees. Lead Doug Armstrong makes an interview appearance to talk about the 1999 Jeff Stoughton team which will be honoured this year. The seeds and draw for the upcoming Safeway Championship, in which Dutiaume will compete, are discussed in detail.

FEBRUARY 1: Host Resby Coutts highlights Curl Manitoba's 122nd MCA Men's Bonspiel with interview appearances by Safeway Championship berth winner Jim Kirkness, Bonspiel Champion David Hamblin, Norwegian Junior Frode Bjerke, Curl Manitoba President Jim Strath and a random selection of other bonspiel competitors including Bill Burkett, Gar Chin, Steve Gould, Mark Olson, Daryll Hogg, Brent Strachan, and Don Nelson.

JANUARY 25: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by former Manitoba champion John Bubbs for a discussion of the Canadian Junior men's final game and the BDO Classic Canadian Open. Junior Silver medal winning skip Alex Forrest, Olmpics-bound Kevin Martin and Glenn Howard make interview appearances. World Curling Tour President Pierre Charette, in an extended interview, talks about the World Curling Tour and Grand Slam series and about the decision to take the Canadian Open to a new venue in 2011. Grand Slam icemaker mark Shurek talks about his 35th Grand Slam event.

JANUARY 18: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky with Kerri Flett (talking about winning a 2011 Scotties berth), Chelsea Carey and Kristie Jenion (talking abut joining forces for next year), Randy Dutiaume (talking about winning his Safeway zone in Warren), Kevin Martin (talking about this week's BDO Classic Canadian Open), Ted Northam of Polywest (talking about Kevin Martin and Polywest's support for the July 22 Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament), and Hans Wuthrich (talking about making ice in rural communities as well as his plans for the future).

JANUARY 11: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky talk about the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Winning team members Jill Thurston, Kristen Phillips, Leslie Wilson and Raunora Westcott plus coaches Ron Westcott and Don Duguid make interview appearances to talk about their team and their success in Killarney. Al Friesen, co-chair of next year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Altona talks about Killarney and looks ahead to next year. And we repeat last week's interview with CurlManitoba Executive Director Shane Ray, emphasizing the pending deadline for entries in the MCA Men's Bonspiel.

JANUARY 4: Host Resby Coutts is joined by former Manitoba champion and TSN Commentator Cathy Gauthier for a re-cap of Junior Provincials & Christmas Junior Bonspiel and a preview with predictions on the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Curl Manitoba Executive Director Shane Ray joins as an interview guest with comments on the low entry in the Curl Manitoba Women's Bonspiel which offers a 2011 Scotties Berth and on the deadline for entries in the MCA Men's.

DECEMBER 21: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by CurlManitoba Executive Director Shane Ray for a discussion of Junior Curling and some of the current issues including seeding, zone playoffs structure for next season and the Christmas bonspiel tradtition. Lack of entries in Senior Women's zones and a number of other topics are included. Russ Howard talks about his book Curl to Win and Dean Gemmell, co-author with John Morris, talks about their book Fit to Curl. DECEMBER 14: Host Resby Coutts and co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by Jason Gunnlaugson to talk about the Canadian Curling Trials experience. Russ Howard has comments on Jason Gunnlaugson and his future in the sport. The show also looks ahead to the Provincial Juniors and Canadian Juniors Championship Chair guy Hemmings makes an interview appearance.

DECEMBER 7: Host Resby Coutts from Edmonton with a special Roar of the Rings edition of RockTalk. Jason Gunnlaugson, Steve Gould, Jeff Stoughton, Kevin Park, Jill Officer, Dawn Askin and Jon Mead allmake interview appearances. Manitoba media personalities make their projections on the outcome.

NOVEMBER 30: Host Resby Coutts and Co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by Eric Wasylenko, Junior Curling organizer and lead on the Riley Smith team which will compete in the Provincial Juniors in December. Discussion includes this year's CurlManitoba chanes to Junior playdowns, a rating of teams bound for the Provincial Juniors, and the recent editorial relating to final games not being played.

NOVEMBER 23: Host Resby Coutts has a feature interview with Lia Arniel of Xcel Sport and Fitness regarding their Fitness for Curling program. Gary Rozak joins in with a discussion of the work being done by the Children's Hospital Foundation and the BDO CLassic Canadian Open's role as a major awareness and financial contributor. Ray Turnbull, recent Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame inductee, winds up the show with anecdotes, recollections, and opinions on the sport of curling over 50 years of competing, coaching and commentating.

 Host Resby Coutts and Co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by Jason Gunnlaugson as he talks about the Road to the Roar in Prince George and his (to some) surprise emergence as a qualifer for Edmonton's Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials. Gunnlaugson announces Ted Appelman as his fifth for the Edmonton event and talks about the reasons for the team's choice.

NOVEMBER 9: Host Resby Coutts and Co-host Mitch Tarapasky look forward to the Road to the Roar in Prince George. Hear the comments of Manitoba's four Pre-Trials skips as they prepared for this week's competition. Jeff Stoughton & Steve Gould, Kerry Burtnyk & Garth Smith, Mike McEwen, and Jason Gunnlaugson all make interview appearances on RockTalk. Joining with their insights into the last step in qualifying for this years Canadian Curling Trials are former World Champion Connie Laliberte as well as TSN's Cathy Gauthier and Vic Rauter.

NOVEMBER 2:  Host Resby Coutts and Co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined by CurlManitoba Executive Director Shane Ray to talk about issues, challenges and opportunities in the sport of curling in Manitoba. April 13, 2009 Host Resby Coutts is joined by Manitoba Curling Association Executive Director Shane Ray with a review of the past week in curling along with a discussion of the MCA's initiative to re-structure its Board of Directors and Governance model and the MCA's review committee charged with a review of the championship qualifying process and the championship formats for Manitoba's nine championship events. Burntwood Curling Club members Farrol Asham and Glen Ringrose join via an interview appearance to discuss their concerns about possible re-formatting of the Safeway championship and to set the stage for the Coutts-Ray discussion of the committee's mandate.

April 6, 2009 Host Resby Coutts is joined by Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame member John Helston, who is currently Denmark's National Coach, and by Sean Grassie who will be competing in the World Mixed Doubles next week in Italy. Discussion revolves around the 27-country World Mixed Doubles and the World Women's (Denmark won Bronze) and World Juniors (Denmark's Jr Men won Gold). Sean Grassie also talks about his Red River College Creative Communications course major project - a book on the history of the MCA Men's bonspiel. In an interview appearance 1973 Brier champion George Achtymichuk of Regina, winner of this week's Canadian Open Stick Championship, talks about the growth of stick curling as well as about the changes in the sort of curling in recent years.

March 23, 2009 Host Resby Coutts and Co-host Mitch Tarapasky are joined in interview guest appearances by Heather Rankin, Eve Belisle, Jason Gunnlaugson, Vic Peters, Randy Dutiaume, Kristy Jenion, Reid Carruthers and Morris Mayor Dale Hoffman.
